Arthur P. Ginsburg, PhD - Founder & President

Professional Experience

1998 - Present - VISUAL FORENSICS CORPORATION - San Ramon, California
Co-founder, Chairman and Director of Scientific Development.

The company produces innovative and accurate visualizations for trial attorneys working in both civil and criminal fields.  By using a variety of tools, techniques and patented technologies, the company is able to achieve repeatable results and satisfy foundational accuracy.  Visual Forensics specializes in the production of computer simulations and video/film composites for litigation projects that involve visual elements.  The company's computer simulations have been featured on CBS, ABC, CNN and numerous affiliate networks.  Dr. Ginsburg has been featured on the CBS program "60 Minutes."

1988 - Present - VISION SCIENCES RESEARCH CORP. - San Ramon, California
Founder, Chairman and Director.

Dr. Ginsburg has been active in research and development of advanced functional vision test methods and products as well as designing and conducting pre-clinical, clinical trials and outcome studies for the government and the ophthalmic industry. He advises the government, academia and the private sector on basic and applied vision problems, vision performance and functional vision standards. He wrote an invited paper on contrast sensitivity and cataract, requested by the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He served as a Principal Investigator of the Contrast Sensitivity Evaluation and Radial Keratotomy (PERK) studies. He obtained grants from the National Eye Institute and the U.S. Air Force to conduct functional vision research. He was a member of the "Computerized Medical Imaging and Graphics" editorial board. As a consultant and expert witness with the U.S. Justice Department and the private sector, he examined visibility issues in mid-air collisions, aviation wire strikes and wake turbulence. He also provides consulting and expert witness services for state, city and private sector legal entities on vision capability and visibility issues as they relate to employment, driving and pedestrian accidents, criminal, refractive surgery and other areas. Dr. Ginsburg invented and patented second generation contrast sensitivity and glare test systems and visual analysis software.

1985-1988 - VISTECH CONSULTANTS, INC., Dayton, Ohio
Founder, CEO & Director

This firm, which created and continues to market advanced vision testing technology, performed basic and applied vision research resulting in the development of advanced functional vision test systems. Dr. Ginsburg obtained grants from the National Eye Institute and U.S. Air Force to conduct functional vision research. Vistech became synonymous with vision screening programs and both contrast sensitivity and glare vision test systems. Dr. Ginsburg invented and patented vision test system equipment.

1977-1985 - UNITED STATES AIR FORCE, Aviation Vision Laboratory
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio
Officer, Founder, Director & Principle Investigator

Dr. Ginsburg pioneered the transfer of basic research on human vision modeling to new functional vision performance test methods and systems. He conducted original research to show that an individual's contrast sensitivity quantifies measurements of visual capability to detect and identify targets under simulated and actual visibility test conditions. He served as Correspondent-at-Large and Former Group Member regarding Techniques for the Assessment of Visual Performance for the National Committee on Vision. He taught a Human Perception course at Wright State University and developed, implemented and analyzed the first Air Force vision performance experiments aboard the NASA space shuttles. Dr. Ginsburg invented and patented the first practical contrast sensitivity vision test chart for clinical use by ophthalmologists and optometrists.
